The Code of Flap Ethics

Drafted by Dave. Reviewed by Dave. Unanimously approved by Dave.

Welcome to the ethical backbone of FlapSnaps. It is firm, it is clear, and it was drafted in a serious mood with a cup of tea and absolutely no wiggle room.

This code exists for one reason: to keep things consensual, adult, respectful, and significantly less chaotic than the internet normally is.

Core principle

If consent is not obvious, enthusiastic, and adult, it is not happening. This is not negotiable, debatable, or something Dave will "take a view on".

Consent above all.

1. Adults only (18+)

You must be 18 or over. No exceptions. None. If you are under 18, leave now and go do literally anything else.

  • No minors. Ever.
  • No "barely 18" marketing vibes either. We are not that site.
  • When in doubt, Dave rejects it and makes a disappointed noise.

2. Ownership

Only submit images of yourself or content you fully own. If you did not create it, do not possess the rights to it, or found it "on a forum", it can jog on.

  • No leaks, no stolen content, no "it was in a group chat".
  • No revenge content, no coercion, no pressure, no funny business.
  • If it belongs to someone else, it belongs somewhere else.

3. Respect

Flaps are treated with appreciation and basic human decency. There is humour here, but it is not aimed at contributors.

  • No shaming.
  • No harassment.
  • No hateful, abusive, exploitative, or illegal content.

4. Privacy & anonymity

If you request anonymity, you get anonymity. If you want credit, you get credit exactly as requested. If you want to be credited as "FlapDemon_69", Dave will take a long breath and do it anyway.

  • We do not publish personal information.
  • We do not "accidentally" leak metadata on purpose.
  • We do not share submissions with anyone except for the purpose of running the site.

5. No exploitation

Submissions are not sold, licensed, syndicated, reused, or repurposed without explicit written permission. Your content is yours.

If anyone tries to buy your submission off Dave, he will decline and then tell this story in the pub.

6. The right to withdraw

You can request removal at any time. No justification required. No lecture. No guilt trip. Dave removes it and carries on with his day.

7. Complaints

If you think something should not be on the site, tell us. Dave reads every complaint. He may frown while doing so, but he reads it.

Email: dave@flapsnaps.com — or visit the Complaints page.

8. Final authority

Dave is the final authority on what is accepted, rejected, featured, removed, or quietly ignored. This is not because Dave is perfect, but because Dave is in charge of this website.

This Code of Flap Ethics may change without notice, announcement, or apology. Dave reserves the right to improve things, tighten rules, or rewrite this entirely after reading one (1) particularly unhinged email.
